The health of Ukrainian citizen Serhiy Kuznetsov, who is accused of undermining the Nord Stream pipelines and is in prison in Italy awaiting a decision on his extradition to Germany, is in a **critical** condition, stated the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets on November 9 on his Telegram channel. Lubinets spoke about his meeting with Kuznetsov’s wife, Halyna. “The woman said that Serhiy is continuing his hunger strike and his health is in a **dangerous** condition,” the human rights defender reported, assuring that he is personally keeping the situation under control. He stated that holding a suspect in **unacceptable** conditions in a maximum-security colony is inadmissible. According to him, this does not comply with the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. As a reminder, according to Kuznetsov’s lawyer, Nicola Canestrini, the detainee declared a hunger strike starting from October 31 in protest while awaiting the extradition decision.
