In a new study published in the journal Science Translational Medicine, Australian scientists presented data that instilled hope in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. The scientists emphasize that sufficient intake of vitamin B3 can be achieved through a proper diet: red tomatoes, sweet peppers, potatoes, eggplants, legumes, nuts, mangoes, and pineapples. The study authors note that the necessary amount of niacin can be obtained from common foods. Daily consumption of niacin-rich foods, combined with an active lifestyle, abstaining from bad habits, and adequate sleep, can significantly reduce the risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases.
