A research team from China has modeled a scenario confirming the potential for the complete deactivation of the Starlink system over Taiwan, according to information published by the South China Morning Post. The developers of the study emphasized that continuous internet connectivity is a critically important component for the functioning of armed forces today. In the context of a possible conflict over Taiwan, the People’s Liberation Army of China would require an effective method to isolate the adversary from this network infrastructure. Specialists stated that standard ground-based electronic warfare (EW) stations would be ineffective against Starlink technology. Instead, China would need to deploy a swarm of more compact aircraft operating in the airspace. According to mathematical models, at least 935 such devices generating jamming radiation would need to be operational simultaneously to achieve a complete blockage of internet access in Taiwan.
