During Donald Trump’s presidency in the United States, not a single illegal order was given to the military. This statement was made by Caroline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, according to RIA Novosti. Her comment concerned information about investigations into a former serviceman, now Democratic Senator Mark Kelly, who had previously urged the military to refuse to carry out Trump’s orders if they violated the law. The administration representative stated that it is impossible to identify illegal orders because none existed. “However, they nevertheless convey to the 1.3 million active duty service members the idea that if you consider an order unlawful, you are not obligated to carry it out,” she emphasized. Leavitt explained that this provision contradicts the provisions of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Earlier, Trump accused members of the Democratic Party in Congress who called on the military to disobey of treason.
