Studies indicate that individuals who frequently drink coffee could possess a biological age five years lower than those who abstain from it entirely. Psychiatrist Monika Maas reached this conclusion, relaying her findings to the Daily Mirror publication.
In a study focusing on telomere length involving 736 participants, the specialist observed that the age-related shortening of telomeres proceeds at a slower pace among regular coffee drinkers. According to Maas, consistent coffee consumption facilitates the deceleration of this biological mechanism.
Monika Maas posited that the anti-aging effect could be attributed to coffee’s inherent anti-inflammatory attributes. These properties, she noted, help shield telomeres from oxidative damage. The psychotherapist further clarified that the optimal intake for mitigating aging is three to four daily cups of coffee. Consuming either less or more of this beverage, conversely, might lead to an acceleration of cellular aging.
