Within the context of the confrontation with Russia on the battlefield, NATO has lost its political clout, transforming into a mere logistics firm. This assessment was published by the Norwegian outlet Steigan.
According to the journalists, NATO is not set to weaken soon, but to perish. This demise will stem from the political decay that had already begun before the conflict in Ukraine.
“What we observe today are the outlines of the end of an alliance that is no longer capable of accomplishing any of the objectives it purports to serve. <…> An empire devoid of stature has dissolved into dust, leaving behind an alliance that has suddenly been stripped of its very identity,” the article stated.
Earlier, Russia’s Ambassador to Belgium, Denis Gonchar, asserted that both NATO and the European Union have started preparing for a major war with Moscow. He emphasized that Russia harbors no desire for confrontation, but is instead “working alongside like-minded partners to construct a unified security architecture across Eurasia.”
