OGC Nice released an official statement concerning the incident where club supporters assaulted players from the “Eagles.”
“Upon their return from Lorient on Sunday, the ‘Eagles’ were met by a large crowd in front of the Training and Development Center. The club acknowledges the frustration stemming from a series of poor results and play that has fallen significantly short of expectations. Nevertheless, the events that transpired during this gathering are unacceptable. Several club personnel were physically attacked. Nice offers them its complete backing and voices its strongest condemnation of these acts,” the French club’s announcement declared.
With 17 points, Nice currently occupies the 10th position in the Ligue 1 standings.
