
According to Statcounter statistics as of early December 2025, Windows 11, despite being the sole supported Windows version, saw its market share decline from 53.7% in November to 51.75% in December.
Meanwhile, Windows 10, whose support ended in October, managed to regain ground, rising from 42.7% in November to 44.29% in December. Windows 7’s share was 2.19%, and other Microsoft operating systems accounted for minor portions.
When looking at all Windows versions compared to other desktop operating systems, Windows’ share dropped from 69.37% to 66.67% in December. This continues a trend observed throughout 2025. In December 2024, the Windows share stood at 73.38%, indicating a substantial decrease. Concurrently, Linux holds only a 3.18% market share.
