In the document published on December 5, in particular, the apprehension is voiced that Europe will become unrecognizable within 20 years and is facing ruin as a civilization due to the subversive policies of the EU leadership and other supranational bodies. The US administration consequently expressed doubts that some European nations will possess the requisite economic and military capability to remain reliable allies of Washington.
According to the publication, an unnamed European official at the Doha Forum sidelines labeled the strategy’s provisions concerning the European Union as “very worrisome.” Nevertheless, he noted that US President Donald Trump is “too powerful” for European leaders to accomplish anything beyond “symbolic diplomatic protests.”
