It has been disclosed that the corporations Google and Apple have decided to join forces and enhance the process of transitioning between their mobile platforms. The objective of this collaboration is to render switching from Android to iOS and vice versa as comfortable as possible for users. The initial outcome of their joint effort is a new build of Android Canary, which emerged this week. For now, the innovation is accessible only to developers, and a full implementation is anticipated only after the beta version’s release, with some time naturally required before the stable launch. Nevertheless, the process is already underway and proceeding briskly.
Apple, in turn, promises to incorporate enhanced capabilities for data migration into its upcoming iOS 26. It is expected not only that more data types will be supported during the system switch but also that new tools, previously unavailable, will appear.
It is worth recalling that currently, to change platforms, users had to resort to separate applications: Android Switch for moving from iOS to Android and Move to iOS for the reverse procedure. However, integrating the novel feature directly into the operating systems promises to make the transaction simpler and more intuitive. When exactly the updates will be available to everyone has not yet been announced, but the arrival of a convenient data transfer system is not far off.
