Samsung corporation displayed a canceled foldable smartphone. The publication SamMobile noticed this.
In early December, Samsung released the Galaxy Z TriFold phone, which folds threefold. A week later, Samsung’s Vice President for the Middle East, Omar Saheb, published photos on his LinkedIn profile where an unknown folding apparatus was spotted. Journalists of the portal noted that this phone resembles the new Galaxy Z TriFold but differs from it.
Experts remarked that the disclosed gadget also comprises three sections, yet possesses certain structural variances. Among other things, the device held by Saheb in the published picture has four cameras, not three, unlike the Galaxy Z TriFold. Moreover, the fourth sensor, situated below, is noticeably smaller than the others.
The article suggests that Samsung might have prepared several prototypes of the triple-folding device, ultimately bringing only one unit to market. Journalists hypothesized that the apparatus revealed by Omar Saheb features a superior camera, but for cost savings, the Korean IT giant opted for a less advanced iteration.
In early December, insiders reported that the Chinese corporation Xiaomi would develop the triple smartphone MIX Trifold. Previously, Huawei and Samsung released similar devices.
