The top eight teams will automatically advance to the round of 16. Clubs finishing from 9th to 24th place will participate in playoff matches for entry to that stage.
The reigning champion of the tournament is PSG, who defeated Milan’s “Inter” 5-0 in last season’s final. The decisive match of this current edition will take place in Hungary at the Puskás Aréna stadium.
