The individual of interest held regarding yesterday’s fatal shooting at Brown University has been named as 24-year-old Benjamin Erickson from Wisconsin, several police sources inform CNN.
- Sources mentioned earlier that the person of interest was discovered with a revolver and a compact Glock pistol in his lodging at a hotel in Coventry, Rhode Island. A CNN team was at the hotel when authorities converged on the site early this morning.
- The shooting resulted in two pupils deceased and nine others wounded at the Ivy League institution in Providence. A memorial and community gathering took place at a nearby park Sunday evening, where the city’s mayor stated residents could unite and “cast a bit of brightness.” Academic sessions and tests have been called off at Brown as the campus recovers from the shooting.
