The Chinese firm Xiaomi stated that it has no ties to military organizations. This declaration followed an appeal by a group of American lawmakers to place it on the U.S. Department of Defense’s roster.
In an official communication, Xiaomi emphasized that it is purely a consumer company, and its merchandise is intended for civilian and business application. The firm believes there is no justification for inclusion in list 1260H.
Previously, nine Republican congressmen appealed to the U.S. Secretary of Defense with a suggestion to add over a dozen Chinese tech enterprises to this catalog, including the startup DeepSeek and robot maker Unitree. List 1260H does not entail direct penalties, but it cautions American entities about potential cooperation hazards.
