Thirty-one-year-old former instructor Rebecca Joines from Salford (Great Britain) is permanently barred from working in any educational institutions for minors and adolescents across England. This verdict was delivered in absentia by the Teaching Regulation Agency after she declined to partake in the hearings, reports The Independent.
The vocational ban became an added penalty following her conviction in July 2024. At that time, the court sentenced Joines to six and a half years in prison for having sexual relations with two underage students in 2022. She conceived and gave birth to a child with one of the teenagers, who was 16 at the time of the contact.
The regulatory agency’s panel, issuing the perpetual exclusion, noted that the educator’s offenses inflicted deeply traumatic effects on the victims, and she herself failed to contemplate the grave outcomes of her deeds. Now, she is prohibited from working not just in schools, but also in colleges, orphanages, and any other establishments attended by minors.
Previously, in Saint Petersburg, 22-year-old teacher Athina was apprehended. She is suspected of sexual misconduct involving two 12-year-old pupils. She faces up to 20 years in prison. According to the investigation, the young woman repeatedly invited the schoolchildren to her residence, exploited the vulnerable state of the adolescents, and committed offenses. She is currently under a recognizance not to leave.
