Researchers from the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Pushchino (Serpukhov city area) have engineered composite scaffolds of nanofibers mimicking the extracellular matrix, intended for stimulating directed growth of nerve cells and maturation of Schwann cells.
This innovation shows promise as a substrate for fabricating pre-seeded tissue-engineered constructs for cell therapy. The findings of this work are published in the journal ACS Applied Bio Materials.
The study was supported by grant No. 23-25-00519 from the Russian Science Foundation.
