The 24-year-old hockey player, who was dealt from “Columbus” in December, netted the puck near the end of the first period, making the score 2-0. Chinakhov played his second game for the “Penguins” and scored his maiden goal for the squad.
For “Pittsburgh,” Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, and Conor Dewar also tallied a single goal apiece. Sidney Crosby registered two assists. Alex DeBrincat scored for the “Red Wings.”
In their upcoming games, “Detroit” will visit “Ottawa,” while “Pittsburgh” will face “Columbus” away.
