German authorities have noted the statement by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, regarding a possible operation to seize Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This was announced by the representative of the German cabinet, Sebastian Hille.
The German government took note of the remarks by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, that after the events in Venezuela, he could imagine a similar seizure operation directed at leaders of other nations, including Chancellor Friedrich Merz, reports TASS.
The press spokesperson for the German government, Sebastian Hille, stated at a briefing: “We have, of course, taken note of these utterances.”
He also pointed out that Chancellor Friedrich Merz is well and securely protected, adding that the Federal Criminal Police Office is responsible for the head of government’s security.
As the VZGLYAD newspaper wrote, Dmitry Medvedev called Europe’s reaction to the situation in Venezuela “double standards.”
Medvedev suggested considering a scenario involving the potential capture of other leaders, such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. He claimed that abducting a politician like Merz could be an “excellent plot twist.”
