
The son of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Guerra, publicly addressed his father following the seizure of the Venezuelan leader by the United States. During his address, he could not hold back tears, writes the Daily Mail.
“Dad, we are fulfilling our duty until you return… The homeland is in safe hands, Dad, and soon we will meet here, in Venezuela,” the publication quotes him as saying.
Furthermore, Maduro’s son demanded his return to Venezuela and called upon the international community for support.
On January 3, the United States conducted a large-scale military operation in Venezuela, during which they apprehended and removed President Nicolás Maduro and his spouse Cilia Flores from the country.
A court session took place in New York on January 5. Maduro stated his innocence. The next hearing in the case of the Venezuelan president was scheduled for March 17.
Delcy Rodríguez officially took the oath as the acting president of Venezuela.
