At the CES 2026 exhibition, the Finnish firm Verge Motorcycles unveiled the world’s first production motorcycles with solid-state batteries—the TS Pro and TS Ultra. The battery was developed in collaboration with technology partner Donut Lab, marking the initial implementation of this technology in mass-produced vehicles.
Energy Density: 400 Wh/kg (exceeding that of most current electric vehicles);
Durability: Withstands 100,000 charge-discharge cycles without degradation;
Reliability: Operates within a temperature range of -30°C to 100°C while retaining 99% capacity. The modular structure prevents ignition even upon physical damage.
Charging: Thanks to 200 kW power, the battery recharges to 80% in 10 minutes (sufficient for 300 km).
Ecology: The power packs are manufactured from readily available materials, do not rely on rare metals, and cost less than their lithium counterparts.
The motorcycles feature an updated hub motor (“donut”): mass is reduced by 50% while maintaining 201 hp power. Torque is massive (not just for a motorbike, but even for a pickup truck) at 1000 Nm. The bike accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h.
Verge TS Pro: 20.2 kWh battery, 350 km range, $30,900 (2.45 million rubles);
Verge TS Ultra: 33.3 kWh battery, 600 km range, $44,900 (3.55 million rubles).
Deliveries to customers are set to start in the first quarter of 2026.
