
Regular consumption of eggs as scrambled eggs, omelets, or hard-boiled might encourage the advancement of atherosclerotic changes, stated Alexander Umnov, a lecturer at the Department of Surgery of the Medical Faculty at the State University of Enlightenment. He shared his view in a discussion with “Lenta.ru.”
The physician cautioned against daily egg intake due to the significant amount of cholesterol in the food item. He recalled that the progression of atherosclerotic changes leads to the narrowing of artery lumens and poorer blood supply to organs. This, he added, raises the likelihood of cardiovascular complications, including myocardial infarction.
“The elevated fat content in eggs can contribute to the accumulation of interstitial fat in organs, which is also a health risk factor. With insufficient heat treatment of eggs, for instance, when eating runny scrambled eggs with bread, there is a danger of salmonellosis infection, which poses a serious threat to well-being,” Umnov cautioned.
The doctor also mentioned that frying in vegetable oil, as well as adding bacon and sausage to the dish, could increase the probability of developing oncological diseases. Furthermore, excessive salting of dishes containing eggs may result in elevated arterial pressure, the specialist concluded.
Previously, surgeon Alexander Umnov warned about the hazard of pumpkin latte. According to him, the pumpkin flavoring included in the beverage composition contains potassium sorbate, which triggers digestive upset.
