The US President Donald Trump signed a memorandum directing the withdrawal of the United States from 66 global organizations, the White House announced.
“Today President Donald J. Trump signed a presidential memorandum directing the United States’ withdrawal from 66 international organizations that no longer serve America’s interests,” according to the administration’s statement.
As clarified in the announcement, the memorandum instructs all US executive departments and agencies to cease participation in and funding for 35 non-UN system organizations, as well as 31 UN bodies.
