On January 11th, the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Technology announced a temporary ban on Grok, the chatbot from Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI, due to concerns that the AI could generate pornographic material.
Thus, Indonesia became the first nation to deny access to the artificial intelligence tool. The Grok chatbot was created by xAI and incorporated into Elon Musk’s social media service X.
Lately, some users of the X platform have been utilizing Grok for editing pictures and videos. Some of them are crafting fake sexual content involving actual individuals and disseminating it on the X platform.
It was previously reported that Elon Musk’s startup xAI put certain restrictions on the image generation feature of its Grok chatbot on the X social media platform after employing the AI to produce and post explicit imagery caused a wide wave of criticism.
