The football club (FC) “Real Madrid” dismissed head coach Xabi Alonso. The club’s press service reported this on January 12th on their official website.
“Football Club ‘Real’ announces that by mutual consent with Xabi Alonso, the decision has been made to conclude his tenure as head coach of the first squad,” the statement read.
The reason for the departure was the club’s defeat in the match against “Barcelona” in the Spanish Super Cup final.
According to “Sport-Express,” one cause for this action was the behavior of players who did not support their manager.
Previously, on January 5th, it was announced that the Portuguese Ruben Amorim stepped down as head coach of English FC “Manchester United.” The statement indicated that the team’s management reluctantly accepted the need for changes.
