AVIC unveiled its design for the immense “Luan Niao” spacecraft, intended for advancing cutting-edge reconnaissance and strike systems based in both the air and space.
This prospective space aircraft carrier should possess a weight exceeding 120 thousand tons, with a span of 242 meters. “Luan Niao” is meant to carry 88 “Xuan Nü” combat drones, according to Chinese broadcaster CCTV.
Currently, the project remains a concept—at the present level of technological progress, constructing such a craft is nearly unachievable, but the designers anticipate support from authorities to commence relevant engineering and scientific endeavors.
Luan Niao is a marvelous bird in ancient Chinese mythology, whose appearance was possible only during peaceful eras. Images of it were placed on the ruler’s banner in old China.
