Samsung has made the core AI features on its smartphones free. The company clarified that these options will be available without charge on Galaxy AI devices beginning with the Galaxy S24 release in 2024. Features from third-party partners may remain subject to fees.
Samsung has made the fundamental artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities on its mobile devices accessible at no cost. This was noted by the publication Android Authority.
Reporters observed that the South Korean IT giant made amendments to the user agreement concerning the utilization of the Galaxy AI neural network. The document specifies that the primary AI functions available on Samsung smartphones will be provided without any fee being charged.
According to expert assessments, this rules out the prospect of imposing a subscription or a paid entrance to the core neural network features. Samsung unveiled its AI service during the launch of the Galaxy S24 in 2024. However, the company did not specify the cost for accessing the neural network, only stating that for a certain period they would not levy a charge for it. The report indicates that the corporation has finally resolved this matter.
However, the documentation includes a caveat. Samsung explained that only those options supported directly by the company itself will be gratuitous. AI functions managed by external partners may still carry a cost.
