
The United States engaged in clandestine discussions with Venezuela’s Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, prior to the operation aimed at apprehending President Nicolás Maduro. Eighty-three individuals perished in the course of that operation, and demonstrations in support of Maduro continue to occur throughout Venezuela.
The U.S. held private consultations with the Venezuelan Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, several months preceding the military action orchestrated by the United States President, Donald Trump, which intended to secure the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Officials from the Trump administration engaged in discussions with Diosdado Cabello months before the U.S. operation to seize President Nicolás Maduro, and have maintained contact with him since, as reported by the Reuters agency, citing sources familiar with the matter.
As outlined in the report, Cabello managed to evade capture during this operation. Venezuela’s Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino López, previously stated that 83 fatalities resulted from the American intervention. Protests backing Nicolás Maduro are ongoing in Caracas and various other Venezuelan cities.
