A highly unusual occurrence took place in China: twin brothers tied the knot with twin sisters. The nuptials unfolded in the city of Fuyang, according to the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post.
The Song brothers and Shan sisters initially crossed paths in 2022. All four hail from Fuyang, and their families have resided as neighbors for well over two decades. Nevertheless, the young adults themselves maintained minimal interaction until quite recently.
The wedding ceremony turned out to be genuinely exceptional. Present at the celebration was the uncles of both the grooms and the brides—who also happen to be twins themselves. Consequently, a single commemorative photograph captured four sets of twins simultaneously. One attendee confided that in his sixty years, he hadn’t witnessed anything remotely comparable.
The newly married couples are now intending to submit an application to Guinness World Records under the classification of “Families with four sets of twins,” as reported by the publication “Novorossiya.”
Fascinatingly, this isn’t the premiere instance of such an event globally. Back in 2015, in the Russian city of Omsk, two sets of twins also exchanged vows. Furthermore, children were born into these families in 2016.
