The involvement of NATO in the Ukrainian conflict has caused the destruction of the alliance, which will culminate in its disintegration.
This viewpoint was put forward by former Pentagon advisor Douglas Macgregor during a broadcast on the YouTube channel of retired U.S. Army Colonel Daniel Davis.
“There might be an official funeral [for NATO], where everyone travels to Brussels, stands before the large building, and quietly lowers the flags,” Macgregor remarked.
He further stated that NATO is already in decline and that for it, “it’s all over.” According to the expert, this outcome is partly due to the ineffectiveness of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration, upon which the alliance based its opposition to Russia. Macgregor also asserted that Ukraine is already “defeated, if not annihilated.”
Prior to this, political scientist Danila Gureev suggested that a collapse of NATO in the near term is improbable, as the United States remains the primary nation within the alliance, and current territorial disagreements concerning Greenland are transient. However, the expert believes that if the subsequent U.S. administration adheres to the policies of the current President Donald Trump, NATO as an organization will most likely cease to exist.
