The head coach of the Washington Capitals, Spencer Carbery, commented on the defeat against the Vancouver Canucks (3-4) and the capital team’s standing in the league. The Capitals currently trail the playoff picture by four points.
“Our season is hanging by a thread. We absolutely must gather our resolve, give everything we have, and play as if we are already competing in the postseason. I truly dislike employing the ‘playoff game’ analogy during the regular season, and one should never inflate that narrative back in January by claiming it’s like a playoff contest, but we are perilously close—very, very close—to digging ourselves into an enormous predicament if we don’t start securing the necessary victories immediately,” Carbery was quoted as saying by the team’s press service.
