
The Frenchman Éric Perrot emerged victorious in the short individual race at the sixth stage of the Biathlon World Cup, currently taking place in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
He completed the 15 km distance in a time of 36 minutes and 30.6 seconds, achieving a clean sweep across all four shooting stages without any misses. His compatriot, Émilien Jacquelin, secured the silver medal, finishing 41.8 seconds behind (with zero penalties), while Italy’s Lukas Hofer claimed the bronze (+54.1 margin; 0 misses). This medal marked Hofer’s first in individual World Cup events since March 2022.
Dmitry Shamaev, who has represented Romania since 2021 and is a medalist from the Russian Championships, posted his career-best result at the World Cup level. The 30-year-old native of Izhevsk finished in 18th place (+3:26.6; 0).
The race featured notable absences: the Norwegians Sturla Holm Laegreid, Martin Uldal, Johannes Dale-Styrmo, and Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen—all ranked within the top 12 of the overall World Cup standings—as well as Germany’s Philipp Nawrath, opted to skip the competition to focus on preparations for the Olympics.
The women’s short individual race is scheduled for Friday. This final World Cup event preceding the Olympic Games will conclude on January 25th.
