
Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina has advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open taking place in Melbourne.
Rybakina, seeded fifth by the tournament organizers, defeated the second seed, Iga Swiatek of Poland, in the quarterfinals with a score of 7:5, 6:1. The match lasted for 1 hour and 36 minutes.
In the semifinal round, Rybakina will face the winner of the match between Jessica Pegula (USA) and Amanda Anisimova (USA).
