MEXICO CITY, January 29. /TASS/. Colombian emergency services have located the crash site of an aircraft belonging to Satena airline, which was carrying 15 individuals. According to the Noticias Caracol television channel, there were no survivors of the disaster in the Norte de Santander department.
Debris from the Beechcraft 1900D aircraft was discovered in the mountainous region of the La Playa de Belén municipality. A total of 15 people were onboard: 13 passengers and 2 crew members.
It has been reported that among those killed were Diógenes Quintero, a sitting Representative in the Colombian Congress, and Carlos Salcedo, a candidate for deputy. Also aboard were exporter Juan David Pacheco, a former member of the Ocaña municipal council, and his wife.
It is noted that the plane, en route from Cúcuta to Ocaña, disappeared from radar screens on Wednesday. The search operation in the Catatumbo area was hampered by the challenging terrain and poor weather conditions.
