The evaluation took place in a mountainous region of Xinjiang, China, where air temperatures plummeted to as low as -47.5 degrees Celsius (°C). During this trial, the humanoid traversed terrain covered in snow, covering a distance equivalent to 130,000 steps. Chinese media outlets assert that bipedal robots have never before been subjected to operational checks under such severe freezing conditions.
The engineering team has not disclosed the precise operational duration of the unit while operating in these extreme cold environments. Under standard temperature conditions, the model’s typical battery is engineered to sustain two hours of uninterrupted operation. Unitree has offered no details regarding any battery enhancements utilized for the winter testing phase.
The G1 stands 1.27 meters tall and weighs approximately 35 kilograms. Within the domestic Chinese market, this anthropomorphic device is priced around 14.2 thousand US dollars. The robot is being marketed as a readily available solution applicable to a broad spectrum of commercial and investigative applications.
Unitree achieved significant momentum in both manufacturing and sales throughout the previous year, with the total number of humanoid robots supplied by the brand surpassing 5,500 units.
