Vin Diesel and his crew are set to return to the big screen for their final ride.
Universal Pictures has officially confirmed development on the concluding installment of the iconic “Fast & Furious” franchise. The forthcoming movie, titled “Fast & Furious Forever,” is slated for a worldwide theatrical debut on March 17, 2028. This upcoming feature will serve as the direct follow-up to 2023’s “Fast X” and, according to the creators, will wrap up the main saga.
The franchise’s leading man, Vin Diesel, who portrays Dominic Toretto, offered an emotional response to the announcement via his social media profile. He shared a picture alongside his late co-star Paul Walker, who played Brian O’Conner, accompanying it with a deeply felt caption. “No one said the road wouldn’t be tough… but this is our road,” the actor wrote. “A road that defined us and became our legacy. And legacy… lasts forever. March 17, 2028! FAST & FURIOUS: FOREVER.”
It’s worth recalling that Paul Walker tragically passed away in November 2013 while filming scenes for “Furious 7.” To complete his sequences, the production utilized computer-generated imagery, archival footage, and stand-ins—the actor’s brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker.
The premiere of the final film was initially scheduled for Spring 2025 but has since been postponed. Specific plot details, the full cast list, and the production team remain undisclosed at this time. However, Vin Diesel previously made a few promises to fans during the Fuel Fest auto festival, which was organized by Cody Walker. He affirmed that the finale will mark a “return to car culture, to street racing” and hinted at a potential onscreen reunion between his character, Dom, and Brian. “That’s what you can expect in the finale,” Diesel assured the audience.
