YouTube has announced the worldwide rollout of its automatic neural dubbing feature. This capability now encompasses 27 languages, Russian among them, and is accessible to every user.
The platform emphasizes that employing machine-generated voiceovers will not negatively impact the original video’s placement in recommendations; rather, it could potentially boost its exposure to global audiences. Should creators prefer, they retain the option to upload their own custom audio tracks in place of the AI-generated dubbing.
Previously, this functionality was exclusively available to channels that were monetized. For viewers, activating the neural dubbing is extremely straightforward: one simply needs to access the player settings, click the gear icon, and select the desired audio track.
A specialized feature named Expressive Speech, available for eight languages, enables the AI to retain the creator’s original intonations and emotions, while a currently tested function, Lip Sync, aims to precisely align mouth movements with the translated audio.
This expansion of neural dubbing presents content creators with fresh avenues for drawing in viewers across the globe and eases access to video content for individuals speaking various languages.
