A man who blackmailed individuals involved in secretly photographing under women’s skirts has been detained in Japan, as reported by Japan Today. The individual taken into custody is Kotaro Himeki, a 22-year-old Tokyo resident. He was arrested on Tuesday, February 2nd, after capturing video footage from beneath the skirt of a female passenger standing in front of him on a shopping mall escalator. Subsequently, it emerged that he had demanded 100,000 yen (approximately 50,000 rubles) from a student whom he caught engaging in a similar act inside a subway car back in May 2025.
Investigators suspect that Himeki extorted funds from numerous voyeurs through blackmail, reportedly netting at least 20 million yen (around 10 million rubles). While Himeki confessed to taking the upskirt video, he refuses to acknowledge the charges of blackmail. The police inquiry is continuing.
It was previously reported that in Malaysia, three women apprehended and handed over an offender to the police who had secretly recorded a woman’s buttocks using a mobile phone camera. It was later discovered that the detained individual held a position within the civil service.
