Russian fighter Usman Nurmagomedov successfully retained his Professional Fighters League (PFL) lightweight championship, overcoming the challenge presented by Alfit Davis from Great Britain.
The Dagestan native secured the victory in the third round: he executed a chokehold, compelling his opponent to submit.
This title defense marks the first for the domestic athlete since capturing the championship belt this past October, a victory achieved via a decision against Ireland’s Paul Hughes. Prior to this, the Russian held the champion status in another major organization, Bellator, spanning the years 2022 through 2025.
Usman Nurmagomedov is 27 years old and is a third cousin to former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. His professional record now stands at 21 wins with zero losses. One further bout in his career was officially overturned.
The 33-year-old Davis holds the title from the previous PFL season. The Briton’s career statistics currently show 20 victories, 6 defeats, and one draw.
