The 2011 world champion, Canadian skier Devon Kershaw, voiced criticism towards the Russian skier Savely Korostelev regarding the incident involving the Norwegian Harald Amundsen.
“It appears he shoved Harald. Korostelev was attempting to recover, but those footage clips look quite bad,” VG cited Kershaw as saying.
The Russian skier managed to remain upright, while the Norwegian fell.
Following the race’s conclusion, the Russian finished just outside the podium positions. He lagged behind the leader by 3.6 seconds.
Victory in the race went to the Norwegian Johannes Klæbo. He completed the course in 46 minutes and 11 seconds. Silver was secured by the Frenchman Mathis Deloges (trailing by 2.0 seconds), and the bronze medalist was the Norwegian Martin Nyenget (+2.1 seconds).
