A peculiar fireball spotted in the atmosphere above the Kanto region on Japan’s main island, Honshu, has garnered significant interest across Japanese social media platforms, according to reports from RIA Novosti. Witnesses describe a brilliant, luminous object that manifested in the Kanto evening sky at 20:59 on February 9th.
Footage capturing the object’s trajectory emerged from various locations, including Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture near the city of Kawasaki, and set against the backdrop of the iconic Mount Fuji. Video evidence of this atmospheric event was also captured in villages situated near Mount Fuji, by an observatory in Nagano, and by the astronomy and meteorology club of a Tokyo high school.
