Three British Airways crew members required hospitalization subsequent to consuming confectionery offered by a passenger aboard a flight heading from London to Los Angeles. According to reports from The Sun, the flight attendants accepted the treat from the traveler, unaware that the sweets contained potent narcotics.
The crew members ingested the candies once the flight was over, which resulted in a sudden decline in their health and necessitated emergency hospitalization.
Information provided by the publication’s source indicates that laboratory testing revealed each sweet held as much as 300 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—the psychoactive element found in cannabis. This level of potency positions the product among the strongest legal and illegal cannabis edibles available.
An aviation insider commented that the incident carried the potential for disastrous outcomes had the crew consumed the items while airborne. “If the entire team had lost consciousness due to lethal substances while at 30,000 feet, the repercussions would have been horrific,” the source asserted. The airline’s management is now focused on identifying the passenger who supplied the edibles and determining the rationale behind their actions.
The affected crew members have been temporarily relieved of their flight duties pending the completion of medical evaluations. During the ongoing investigation, they are only permitted to travel as regular passengers.
