Camm Bolton, an Australian athlete, was hospitalized following a crash during snowboard-cross practice in Livigno, suffering two fractured vertebrae in his neck, as reported by ESPN.
The Australian snowboarder sustained two cervical spine fractures while training for the snowboard-cross event ahead of the Olympic Games in Italy, according to TASS.
ESPN indicated that immediately after the fall, the athlete experienced discomfort, but he only sought medical attention the subsequent day when the pain became more pronounced.
X-rays confirmed the presence of fractures, leading to Bolton’s urgent airlift evacuation to a medical facility for further treatment. The Italian Olympics would have marked his fourth appearance, having previously competed in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 Games.
Camm Bolton stands as one of Australia’s most seasoned snowboarders, notably securing the silver medal in the mixed team snowboard-cross event at the 2025 World Championships.
