Chinese experts have just accomplished the maiden successful retrieval of the first stage belonging to the Long March 10 launch vehicle. A search and rescue team located and recovered the stage from the sea area—this marks the inaugural instance of at-sea recovery and salvage operations for this particular rocket.
The “Changzheng-10” belongs to a forthcoming generation of launchers and holds a vital position in China’s crewed lunar exploration endeavors. This rocket is being engineered to place the crewed Mengzhou spacecraft and the Lanyue lunar lander into orbit.
It was previously reported that China successfully executed a landing of the first stage of the partially reusable Long March 10 rocket (“Changzheng-10”) onto the water, concurrently validating the emergency escape system intended for the Mengzhou crewed capsule.
