The Iranian telecommunications device “Jam-e Jam-1” was successfully propelled into space on February 12th, originating from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard a Russian Proton-M launch vehicle. Iran’s state broadcasting corporation confirmed the launch. The satellite has attained its designated orbit and is purposed to bolster the nation’s broadcasting infrastructure.
Officials in Tehran are emphasizing that “Jam-e Jam-1” represents the inaugural Iranian public broadcasting satellite positioned in geostationary orbit. This asset is anticipated to fortify the state television network’s framework, guaranteeing more consistent signal coverage.
As previously reported, yesterday saw the ascent of a heavy-lift Proton-M rocket, equipped with a DM-03 upper stage carrying the “Electro-L” No. 5 weather satellite, also launched from Baikonur.
The launch proceeded without incident, and approximately ten minutes subsequent to liftoff, the upper stage, along with the payload, separated from the rocket’s third stage.
