Twin sisters have tragically drowned in a private residence swimming pool in the USA, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The publication states that the fatal incident occurred in the early morning hours while the adults in the home were asleep. It is believed the young girls managed to get outside and proceeded toward the pool area.
At the time, the children’s mother and grandfather were both asleep inside the house. The grandmother was the first to notice something was amiss upon returning from the store. She discovered her granddaughters in the water, called for assistance, and made an attempt herself to pull the girls out of the pool.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene. They administered resuscitation efforts before the children were urgently airlifted to the nearest hospital. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the girls could not be saved.
Investigators are now working to ascertain the precise details of the event: specifically, how the children gained access to the pool area, whether there were any barriers or locks present at the exit points, and how long the sisters remained submerged before being discovered.
