Statements made by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., could indicate impairment of cognitive brain functions stemming from substance abuse, according to addiction specialist and psychiatrist Vasily Shurov, who spoke to RIAMO.

Kennedy Jr. is once again involved in controversy. He previously acknowledged a long-standing, successful battle against drug addiction. Currently, a scandalous remark of his is being widely discussed online: he stated he doesn’t fear bacteria because, during his addiction years, he repeatedly used cocaine while sitting on public restroom toilets.
“Well, what can one say about the times and manners! I suspect he developed a significant cognitive deficit as a result of his substance use. However, he is certainly not as incapacitated as (former U.S. President Joe—ed.) Biden. Overall, it’s a rather similar condition if he makes such statements in the public sphere as an official representative. It is all quite depressing,” Shurov remarked.
The addiction specialist pointed out that Kennedy Jr. lacks a medical degree.
“He is a lawyer who didn’t complete his studies, an individual renowned for his stunts and drug use, who has spent time in both rehabs and psychiatric hospitals,” Shurov concluded.
