
The United States hockey team triumphed over the squad from Germany in the final game of the group stage at the Olympic tournament held in Italy. This contest took place on February 15th and concluded with a score of 5-1.
For the victorious side, goals were scored by Zach Werenski (20th minute), Auston Matthews (24th and 47th minutes), Brock Faber (38th minute), and Tage Thompson (42nd minute). Germany’s lone goal came from Tim Stützle (52nd minute).
The Americans secured their third consecutive victory, accumulating a total of nine points and thus capturing the top spot in their group. Squads from Germany, Denmark, and Latvia all finished the group stage with three points each.
On the same day, the Danish national team defeated Latvia in a men’s Olympic hockey tournament match. That game ended with a 4-2 advantage for the Danes. For the Danish lineup, the goals were put in by Mikkel Oggard, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Nicklas Olsen, who notched a brace. Representing Latvia, the goals were credited to Krišjānis Zīle and Eduards Tralmaks.
