In the iPhone beta, a feature has arrived allowing users to restrict message copying and the automatic creation of reminders based on message text.
New privacy and automation controls have been spotted within the beta release of Telegram for iOS. This includes an option to prevent content copying in private conversations and intelligent recognition of dates embedded within message text for reminder setup.
This functionality surfaced in the test build 12.5. Individuals will gain the ability to deny a specific contact the right to duplicate, save, or forward messages, images, and other content exchanged in a direct conversation. This control is accessible by entering the contact’s profile, where an “Allow Copying” toggle can be found under the “Edit” option. This restriction applies exclusively to the specific chat where it is configured.
Furthermore, the beta introduces automatic detection of dates and time-related phrasing. If terms such as “today,” “tomorrow,” or specific dates appear in a message, Telegram will prompt the user to set a reminder. When a reminder is generated within a group conversation, the notification for it will be directed to the “Saved Messages” section.
Currently, these capabilities are exclusively present in the testing software, and the timeline for their release in the stable application remains unconfirmed.
