Iowa law enforcement officials unearthed 56 unclothed and restrained students from a local university in a basement. Their eyes were blindfolded, and they had been entirely covered with food, according to a report originating from the New York Post, which was subsequently relayed by aif.ru.
It is specified that a university “fraternity” was implicated in this event, having apparently organized what they intended as an initiation ceremony for first-year students.
“Looks like we’ve got a bit of hazing going on here,” is audible on the bodycam footage of the officer who accessed the basement area.
Subsequently, the officer addressed a male figure standing in the doorway who was observing the scene. Upon inquiring about the nature of the events, the officer was told that it was a “celebration of life.”
Following this exchange, the officer took the man into custody. He was identified as 21-year-old Joseph Guya, the fraternity’s leader. A criminal case was initiated against him. Nevertheless, the state later filed a motion to drop the charges against Guya; he was released, and the fraternity has been barred from all operations until the year 2029.
A representative from the University of Iowa stated that Guya was not enrolled as a student at the institution at the time of the supposed “initiation.”
