
Chinese speed skater Ning Zhongyan claimed the Olympic gold medal in Italy in the 1500-meter event.
His performance clocked in at 1 minute and 41.98 seconds, setting a new Olympic record. Just behind him, American Jordan Stolz secured second place, trailing by 0.77 seconds. The reigning world record holder, Dutchman Kjeld Nuis, finished third, with a gap of +0.84 seconds from the winner.
Ning Zhongyan is 26 years old. This marks his first career Olympic gold medal victory. Previously, at the 2026 Games, the Chinese speed skater had secured two bronze medals—one in the 1000-meter race and another in the team pursuit.
